    Old Stuff

  • Room Change
  • New room for Sections 101A and 102A. Beginning Monday 9/22/97 and Wednesday 9/24/97, and for the rest of the semester, you will be having your discussion section meeting in FA 306. The registrar assures me that this room will be large enough and has no other class in it. Finally !!

  • Where do I go ?
  • During the weeks of 9/8 and 9/15 those of you that are not familiar with email, netscape and the unix system and text editors available at UMBC are to go to the labs indicated on the schedule shown below instead of your normally scheduled discussion section meeting. One of the exercises in this lab will be to send an email to your TA that consists of your name, social security number, your section number, and a little bit about yourself. It should include your previous programming experience, if any, and why you're taking this course.

ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED to send this email from their umbc gl accounts to their TA, even if they are not attending the introductory lab session. You will not be able to submit your projects unless we receive this email from you.

Please remember that there is only one lab available for all of the evening sections. It will be held on Thursday the 11th in ECS 336. There will be no Tuesday evening discussion sections held on 9/9. Students from the Tuesday evening sections should attend the Thursday evening lab. Students who are already familiar with email, Netscape and other standard uses of their account, should NOT attend this lab.
