The files in this directory are PC-DOS programs to aid in the traversal
of the Internet, especially when using World-Wide-Web browsers like
LYNX across a dial-up modem connection.

These programs are:

1. lview (lview31.zip) - a windows utility to view pictures of various
			 formats, including GIF, JPG, TIF, and BMP.

2. UU Encoder/Decoder (uucode31.zip)
		       - a windows utility to perform uuencoding and
			 decoding.

3. WinZip (wzbeta55.zip) - a windows utility to control assorted
			  file compression utilities, including
			  PKZIP (included), LHARC, and ARJ.

4. Ghostview/Ghostscript (gsview10.zip/gs261exe.zip)
			 - a windows utility to view/print PostScript
			   files.

5. WinGif (wingif14.zip) - a windows GIF file viewer.

6. Mosaic (wmos20a1.zip) - A windows web browser.

7. PKZip (pkz204g.exe) - a self-extracting collection of programs for
                         compressing/decompressing files.  Use with
                         WinZip.

8. Joe's Player (jp100.zip) - A sound file player for windows 3.1 to
			      play .wav or .au files.

9. RFDMail (rfdmail.zip) - A windows mail tool which doesn't need
                           a TCP/IP connection. (Windows driver for
                           the UNIX "mail" command).

10. Telix (telixw.zip) - A Windows version of the Telix terminal
                         program.

11. HTMLWriter (hw9b3all.zip & hw9b4_up.zip)
		- A Windows HTML editor (install hw9b3all.zip first
		  then hw9b4_up.zip)

All programs in this directory are Shareware/Freeware and subject to
the terms described within their documentation. Users who download
and install these programs on their computers do so at their own
risk and release UMBC, the CS Department, and the maintainers of
this FTP facility from any liability.
