CMSC 621

Advanced Operating Systems

This is a graduate-level class on operating systems. Students in the class should have completed CMSC 421 or an equivalent undergraduate class on operating systems.

The class will cover advanced topics in operating systems including synchronization, memory management, file systems, protection and security, issues in distributed operating systems, and modeling and analysis of operating systems performance.

Prerequisite: CMSC 421 or instructor's permission
